Hello, my name is Stuart, and I’m an independent equity release adviser at Equity Release Supermarket.
With over 20 years of experience in the mortgage and equity release markets, my career began as a mortgage administrator. However, I quickly realised that my strength lay in working with clients, and I developed a passion for providing advice. As a result, I earned my CeMAP and CeRER qualifications, which enabled me to transition into advisory roles.
I began specialising in equity release in 2011 with Age Partnership and have since gained extensive knowledge of lifetime mortgages, home reversion plans, retirement mortgages, and RIOs.
For new clients I provide expert guidance throughout the entire equity release process, helping them choose the right plan based on their individual needs and goals. For existing clients, I conduct plan reviews which looks at whether a lower interest rate is available or helping to release additional funds.
I believe in building strong relationships with my clients, as this allows me to provide the best advice tailored to their unique needs. I pride myself on being approachable, patient, and empathetic and understand that releasing equity can be a significant decision and will encourage you to ask questions, no matter how small.

Based between Wetherby and York, I live with my wife, Laura, and our two sons, Freddie and Alfie, who certainly keep me busy. Outside of work, I’m passionate about hill walking and wild camping. I’m also a big Leeds United fan, having grown up watching videos of legends like Billy Bremner, Eddie Gray, and Peter Lorimer from a young age.
